Dieting had become such an issue in the world that companies were competing to create the best weight loss supplement. NEP made, what they thought would be, the greatest weight loss pill ever created, F.L.O.P. the first Fat Loss Obesity Pill.
NEP was supposedly paying people to move to an island to become test subjects for the new supplement. Rumor has it that it worked amazingly well, until the people using the pill became uncontrollably hungry. They would eat everything in sight, and yet still remain the advertised weight. They would eat almost all day long until, they ran out of food to eat.
With the hunger growing so strong they turned to eating human flesh. That was the day that everything changed. Once they started eating people they became mindless eating machines without any sign of consciousness. Soon all the dieters turned into "Floppers", and if that wasn't bad enough, once bitten, the poor person of prey would also become a "Flopper" themselves.
NEP put their plan F into effect and walled in the Floppers sealing the city off to not only stop the spread of this but concealing what they had done to the rest of the world. You just happened to have a friend that worked for NEP flying people to and from the island, he decided to give you an up-close look at the Floppers to prove to his you the story was not a fairy tale.
The helicopter malfunctions and crash lands, you wake up outside of the crashed helicopter with your friend dead next to you.
